The core business at STA is to represent the Sellers or Buyers of tower sites. The team at STA aids clients who want to monetize their tower assets at the highest price the market will provide. Tom Engel and Jody McCoy aren’t new to the industry. Their careers in broadcast, wireless, cable television, and wireless infrastructure have been built over decades and are based upon the principles of integrity, accountability, creativity, and vision. TOM ENGEL, DIRECTOR

After successful executive leadership stints in the cable television and cellular phone businesses, Tom started selling towers in the early 1990s. He was a pioneer in tower brokerage, and is now perhaps the single most experienced tower broker in the nation. Over that period of time he earned the respect of tower companies with his integrity and detailed knowledge of the industry. Engel has completed more than 300 media related transactions as a buyer, seller, advisor, or broker totaling more than $1 billion and has been involved in raising more than $500 million in debt and equity for various entities. As co-founder of Strategic Tower Advisors, he puts his experience and the relationships he’s developed to work for STA’s clients.

He began his career in the media business in 1972 working for American Television & Communications. He has served as CEO, COO, President, and VP of Bauce Cellular One, Jones Intercable; the Pat Thompson Company, MaxTel, Leonard International, and various Milestone Companies.

Engel has provided expert testimony to the Library of Congress and U.S. Copyrights Tribunal. He has also served as director and president of several communications trade associations, authored many articles in various trade journals, and been a presenter on numerous tower, cellular and cable television panels. His international experience includes Asia, UK, and the South Pacific.

Mr. Engel is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.

Jody McCoy has a forty-two year career in radio and television; in sales, sales management, general management, twenty-nine years of radio ownership, and twenty-five years of station brokerage. McCoy has closed hundreds of deals valued at hundreds of millions of dollars. Jody served as president of the National Association of Media Brokers for two terms.
